I’m Demet Şentürk
UX/UI Designer
Based in Boston

My name, Demet, means bouquet of flowers, derived from the Greek name "Demeter" - goddess of harvest and grain (no wonder I love carbs). I was born in Turkey, and moved to Israel at the age of 11. Being embedded into multiple cultures throughout my pre-adult life gave me a thirst for travel and a special understanding of people and their everyday lives.Given this, it is no surprise that I chose to yet again, explore another culture for my college years. This time I knew I wanted to go somewhere where many cultures came together, thus I picked the U.S.

Out of all colleges and universities, Clark stood out the most to me due to its focus on diversity and helping the community around it. While at Clark I took classes in Photography, Visual Arts, and Graphic Design to name a few. Through these courses, I not only discovered my passion for design but I also discovered the beauty in the small things and the impact it can have on the final product.

Knowing I wanted to enhance my design skills while also learning about the community around me, I searched for local internship opportunities and landed in a local magazine. During my time at this magazine, I was able to try all forms of design and learn how they all connected to one another. I was also able to discover my passion for UX Design. With logic as its center and creativity as its core, UX design combined the best of both worlds for me. In order to really embed myself into this form of design, I signed up for a boot camp that would teach me all I needed to know to be successful in UX.

To even further my skills while in this boot camp, I took on two development roles. These roles consisted of website design and customer journey development for two startups, Significard and All Things Analysis.
